Expedia Hires Bain/Microsoft alum as Director of Global Operations Strategy

Expedia has hired a Director of Strategy reporting to the head of its Global Customer Operations Group.

The successful candidate is a Harvard MBA and Bain alumna, who was recently a Strategy Manager at Microsoft.

Other candidates considered included:

  • A McKinsey Senior Associate, MIT MBA, with robust experience in the logistics industry as an undergraduate
  • A BCG Associate Consultant, who returned to the firm for 3 years following his MBA at Wharton, and is currently a Project Leader

This is the second time that Hawkes Peers has filled this role. The previous candidate, placed 18 months ago, has been promoted. Expedia selected Hawkes Peers to fill the role again, following our success filling this difficult role the first time.

WHAT EXPEDIA IS SAYING ABOUT WORKING WITH HAWKES PEERS

I am glad that we filled this role with a top notch candidate without any compromise on quality. Thanks again for your tireless help on this. I was truly impressed how quickly you were able to identify candidates that exactly fit the profile I had requested (Top3 Strategy at the right tenure level, plus technology affinity). You know your target market well.
